I was asked about my bucket list recently and my answer was one word "gym". I am a fitness junkie, and the time I spend in the gym by myself or with others is my favorite part of the day. I have a "real job", but I love to train others as part of my own life fulfillment, being around like-minded people who are interested in the same things I am.
As a kid, I was overweight and self-conscious. I used to run in gym class by holding my shirt out so that no one could see me jiggle - like that was a good strategy for avoiding ridicule! I'm so happy to see body positivity movements because it's an awful feeling to feel uncomfortable in your skin, but honestly, I would've likely always felt down about myself regardless.
After high school, I made weight training a routine which I've continued to this day. I tried for a VERY long time to out-train a bad diet, and ended up what I call an "accidental powerlifter"! I was strong, but still not in a body I felt comfortable in. It took much longer for me to realize that diet is 80% of body composition and that if I wanted to make a real change, I needed to put in real work. On the third day of eating "healthy" I almost cried because I jumped into the deep end and found out that it wasn't fun.
Throughout the years, I've continually studied everything fitness related, but since making the nutritional switch, I've taken an interest in learning sports psychology and understanding the importance of sustainability. Without a consultation, I can tell you immediately that I know the best diet for you - the one you can stick to!
Training and coaching is traditionally a "salesperson's job". I am NOT a salesperson. I've actively avoided any kind of sales training because it goes against what I stand for. I don't believe in twisting your arm, watching for behavioral cues and having prepared material to sway you into purchasing a program from me. I believe I have the expertise, the experience, and the personality to ignite a fire in you as long as you have a spark! If you want to make a real and sustainable change in your life, I think there's a good chance we will click. If you need to be convinced that "you need this", then I feel whoever is trying to convince you of that is trying to take your money knowing there's a chance you will fail. During our consult, I will advise you if I don't think it's a good match, or if what you're looking for isn't in my skillset. This is my passion, this is not my livelihood.
That said! I do believe in the programs I offer and I want every single one of my clients to reach their goals - I can't wait to celebrate your milestones and brag about how badass my clients are! I train clients in-person in the Rochester, NY area, but also offering coaching online.
I know how overwhelming fitness may seem and how hard it is imagine living a different lifestyle. It doesn't matter if you want to lose 10 lbs or 100 lbs. It doesn't matter if you want to tighten up or join me on stage as a fellow bodybuilder. It doesn't matter if you just want a kick ass workout or if you want to have superhuman strength. It doesn't matter if you've never stepped foot in the gym before, or if you're looking to shake things up. The only thing that matters is that you want to make a change. The rest is my job to make it happen.
If you're interested in connecting, reach out today, and my final advice to you is when you meet with me, or any other trainers is to ask yourself - "does this person have the knowhow to achieve my goals", and "do they light a fire inside of me". Your personal trainer relationship is personal, find someone who makes you feel pumped up for the work you're going to do.
